Its been slightly more than a year with my feet deep down in Big Data. When I started off, I had knowledge mainly on R and statistics.
In the past one year, I’ve learned to appreciate languages such as Java and Python. I was more of a Windows person but now I hardly use except for Microsoft word/excel/powerpoint. Zookeeper was confusing and now it seems so obvious. Avro or Protobuf, well they were some mythical creatures whose purpose I didn’t understand. Now they are impossible not to include in my design.
Then there is machine learning which brings in intelligence to a system and understood how it can be used to drive business as well as how it used right now to change the world on social front too.
The best part of Big data is that it can be used in any sort of field and the impact is direct which means the fruits that you nurtured can be seen fast.
